I recently went to have my taxes done because i got letter from i.r.s. stating i owed 17,000 in taxes?

from 2002 also to get taxes current from 2003-2008 so my social security installment wouldnt be garnished thay told me thay would take care of everything not to worry that we would do hardship case i went to get my taxes and they did 2007-2008 ready to file but the problem is im still back to square one because thay say that it would cost and additional 1200.00 to do the other stuff i think i was mislead by the tax company do i have any re-coarse or can you tell me what i can do thank you ...terry
