Concerning Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, how does Mythopoeia (mythopoesis) come into play?

I just finished reading Frankenstein and I need to research (not extensively) how mythopoesis comes into play in Frankenstein. I could reason my own arguments, but I figure I should find some sources. Does anyone know anything about it or know an internet or book source that might give me the information?
