I'm clueless about maths.... help?

you take the derivative of the function which will give you the slope at any point. The derivative would be using quotient rule -8x / x^4 simplified as -8/x^3 ..Now you need a slope of -1 so you set that derivative equal to -1 and solve for x......-8/x^3= -1 ....-x^3=-8 so x=2 the x cordinate of the point is 2 . to find the y cordinate plug 2 into the original eqn y=4/2^2 = 1 so the pt is (2,1)
