Does anyone remember the name of a 90's cartoon featuring giant robots controlled by internet/virtual reality?

I think they toys were fairly complicated self-embly kits similar to Zoids, but I can't remember for sure. May have had S in it... so vague :S i just cant quite recover the memory! Please help! My inner (and these days admittedly outer) geek thanks you :P
